The transversal department and experts in R&D, technical support, marketing, and product management will support him in all actions. Tomi has a long time experience working with Choice clients in Greece and Romania as agent. He has a 360° overview of products & services, organization of the company.
Tomi graduated in the 90’s at the University of Athens specializing in Animal Production and Management. He started his career as the distributor of Seghers Hybrid. He worked on several breeding farms in Greece as various position and as an independent consultant in pig and artificial insemination management all over Europe. Later he continued this job for the Romanian and Eastern European pig production. The development of the African pig industry created new opportunities for him.
Within Groupe Grimaud, Africa became a focus for future development in pig genetics. Mr Olatunde organized several on line and live presentations in different countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenia, Tanzania and Uganda. Potential importers and investors were invited to join these meetings mainly about technical and economic aspects of breeding modern pig genetics. Projects on building up breeding or commercial farms and AI stations were presented, developed and populated.
As an example of this development, we are very proud to highlight our partnership in Ghana. Our partner has built a new pig farm with artificial insemination station. Population with pure line animals imported from France took place last December. Since this business is set up, his farm is able to organize delivery of semen and breeding stock to local producers. Improved genetics will make the difference and allow an efficient use of local resources to produce high quality meat for people of Ghana. Mr Olatunde did a very close follow up of the startup protocol of the farm in order to secure biosecurity rules and assisted in heat detection and insemination of the delivered sows. At the same time, he trained the local staff on boar management, semen collection, AI management and semen distribution.
